“To abide by the requirements of the Model Code for Animal Welfare, Organic standards and the Food Production (Safety) Act Queensland; to give our hens clean spacious conditions, and to be accredited to the highest quality assurance standards to guarantee consumers that the price premium for organic free range eggs is a true and proper reflection of the product expectations.”
There isn’t another Australian egg producer that has as much experience in organic free range egg production and distribution as Country Range Farming.
The Inwood Family, founders of Country Range Farming, have been proudly farming organic free range eggs, grain, beef cattle, and lucerne in Boodua on the Darling Downs for many generations and were the first farm to supply organic free range eggs for commercial sale in Australia.
Fifth generation farmers, have continued to build on the success of Country Range Farming, expanding their operation to include three neighbouring farms and continually increasing their capacity for supply throughout Australia.
The team at Country Range Farming are wholly committed to ensuring the integrity of their organic system, maintaining full support for rigorous organic accreditation by the largest independent organic certification body in Australia, Australian Certified Organic.
At Country Range Farming, we use a traditional method of rearing chicks to help keep them as naturally healthy as possible.
Chicks arrive at day old from accredited hatcheries and from the age of six weeks, chicks are allowed to roam outside during the day.
This allows for the chicks to develop instincts against predators and prepares the chicks for all weather conditions.
Later, they are permitted to range freely among shaded trees, obtaining natural immunity against disease.
From the moment our laying hens are brought onto a Country Range Farming property as day old chicks, they are raised to the highest animal welfare standards (including vaccinations) and fed entirely organic grains.
Country Range Farming mills its own certified organic feed on farm, ensuring to uphold organic integrity.
Our farm system meets the Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals: Domestic Poultry, guaranteeing our eggs are laid by hens thriving in natural living conditions with access to food and water at all times.
Our free-range hens can forage freely and dust bath all day long and lay in clean nests filled with shavings from which the eggs are collected twice daily by hand.
In accordance with free range guidelines, our pastures contain a maximum of 1,500 hens per hectare and our stocking rates inside the sheds are kept to a minimum.
Our farm features a state-of-the-art grading and processing facility, utilising the latest in food technology to assure a consistently high-quality product.
Each organic free range egg we produce is individually stamped with a code indicating the date the egg was packed and the farm from which it was produced.
Country Range Farming operates transparently and is compliant with Safe Food Queensland, with the company being audited twice a year to guarantee production systems meet the national food safety standards and Queensland Food Act & Food Standards Code.
We are also accredited to HACCP, by the leading international certification company, Bsi.
We have established a highly effective supply chain management and distribution system backed by extensive cold room storage areas, large packing material storage facilities, and a computerised on-farm feed mill.
By developing strategic supply partnerships with other reputable organic egg producers, Country Range Farming offers consistent, guaranteed egg supply 52 weeks of the year, with production levels continuing to increase annually.
Country Range Farming organic eggs are currently distributed locally and interstate.
